Stuck At Home? Our Tips & Favourite Recipes You Don't Have to Leave the House For

In light of recent events with the spread of COVID-19, the team here at Lakanto are remaining proactive and dedicated to ensuring the safety, hygiene and health of our community.

We know a lot of you will have your routine shaken up, and for many, that will mean taking your work to home and staying inside. If you're worried that this will mean you can't stick to healthy habits, access staples ingredients or stay productive and entertained at home, here's some simple and reassuring tips to make this time a little easier to manage.

1. Shop online - it's safe to say, the supermarkets are becoming an overwhelming and stressful place to be whilst people panic buy and the shelves are stripped bare. While we encourage everyone to only buy what they truly need, we also suggest taking some of your shopping online and continuing to support small Australian businesses. Our entire range of Lakanto sweeteners remain available online for purchase here - and with sugar being one of the staple ingredients being cleared out from the stores, now may be the perfect time to invest in an alternative and adopt a new healthy food swap. A small positive amongst all the chaos!

2. Make healthy meals - staying home is the perfect opportunity to get in the kitchen and get creative! Practice your cooking skills, play around with some new recipes, and use this time as an opportunity to recreate the meals you'd usually go out to eat! It's also a great way to keep yourself or your kids busy without getting cabin fever - plus, the added bonus of using Lakanto instead of sugar means that you won't have to worry about your kids ending up on a sugar high!
Our sweeteners are also low calorie, gluten free and diabetic friendly, making them the perfect addition to any meal you may provide for your elderly loved ones or neighbours during a time where they might feel vulnerable.
Here's a selection of healthy recipes you can easily whip up to stay healthy during this time:

Snacks:
Chocolate Bark
Strawberry Muffins
Maple Walnut Keto Balls
Blueberry and Lychee Panacotta

Breakfast:
DIY Nutella
High Protein Banana Bread
Protein Pancakes

Dinner & Lunch:
Quiche Lorraine

3. Stay active - if your gym has temporarily closed, or you're in isolation for a period of time, don't use that as an excuse to let your healthy habits slip! You can easily get in a good workout at home - even if you have no equipment. Create a body weight circuit for yourself to complete 3-4x a week, or head to YouTube and access the millions of free at-home workouts that are free to follow. Sticking to your exercise regime is also a great way to keep your mental health in check during this anxious time.

4. Stay connected - humans are social creatures and it's important we stay a community. Use this time to join some new communities online, and stay in touch with friends and family as much as possible - especially your elderly relatives or neighbours. Be sure to also follow us on Instagram at @lakantoaustralia and connect with us - we'd love to hear what new recipes you've been making or chat to you about our upcoming new products!

We will endeavour to operate business as per usual with your health and wellbeing at the forefront of everything we do. Our website and social media platforms will continue to operate, and we will continue to monitor the development of COVID-19 closely.
