Low Carb Strawberry Agua Fresca Mocktail

Sober October is well and truly upon us and we've teamed up with Nat from Mindful Mocktails for the month!

Have you ever tried Agua Fresca? If you haven't, the time is now! Try this Strawberry Agua Fresca Mocktail. The best part? It only has half a teaspoon of sugar per serve, which is naturally occurring from the strawberries. So it's low calorie, keto friendly, diabetic friendly, gluten free and has 94% less sugar by using Lakanto instead of raw sugar.


5 serves


  • 2 cups strawberries, sliced
  • 2/3 cup Golden Monkfruit Sweetener
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 lime, cut into thin slices
  • Fresh mint to garnish


  1. Mix sliced strawberries, sugar and 1 cup of water together in a medium bowl. Cover and leave in the fridge for 4 hours.

  2. Pour the strawberry mixture into a blender and blend on high until smooth.

  3. Strain through a wire mesh strainer over a jug or bowl.

  4. Add the remaining water and stir to combine.

  5. Chill in the fridge until ready to serve or serve immediately over ice.

  6. Garnish with lime wheels and mint.

Two hot tips from Nat for making alcohol free cocktails at home

  1. If you don’t have a cocktail shaker, use a mason jar or drink bottle – anything with a tight lid will work!
  2. If you don’t have a muddler, use the back of a wooden spoon or similar.
